John 3:14

We're here long enough to make a choice God tells us He has set before us life and death, blessing and cursing, and for us to choose life and blessing that we might live.

The time we spend on this world is not about making money, or gaining popularity; its about life and death choices, and where we will spend eternity.
We can be happy in this present time, we can be content, we can be happy.
Once we know the terrible fate we rejected and the good we chose, then we have even more reason to rejoice.
The pioneer children faced life and death choices each day, and they did not live in fear. They accepted those daily decisions as a necessary and worthy part of living. Therefore through their acceptance of necessary choices, their joy was even stronger for they had stronger contrasts between the choices they made. Imagine how boring things get when choices span only a narrow range of this pleasure or that pleasure.

John 3:14 even as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness so the people could look upon it (and recognize what it was that poisoned them) and be healed. Jesus said, Unless you repent, you cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven. Acknowledging the serpent that bit you is like confessing your sins, admitting your sins, seeing and recognizing the sin of which you were previously unaware. It is a blessing from God to be shown your sins. The wise man will be glad to be shown what he is doing wrong.

Much of the world knows John 3:16. People love to hear someone's going to help them, but who knows John 3:14 ? Who loves to be told they must repent.

Your child will be happier if you explain the choices facing him every day. He has daily choices to make and when he understands their consequences he will be able to make better choices, and have greater reason for rejoicing over having made the right choices.

When you show him the poison berry and the edible berry, don't just say this is the right one to eat; tell him why;
and when you explain matters of the heart and soul, don't just say "this is the proper choice to make" as though it is a public relations choice, but rather, explain it in terms of eternal consequences, life and death, good and evil, righteousness and sin.

The Holy Ghost, when He is come unto you, will convict you of sin, and righteousness, and eternal judgment.

Living is much more exciting when it offers more range of choices, and those choices seen in the light of life or death, is as wide as it gets. Thus those who see the eternal picture connected with our short time here on this present earth have a much deeper well from which to draw their water of life.

How many children today are told everything's OK. I'm OK, you're OK, the homosexuals are OK, adultery is OK, everyone's opinion is as OK as everyone else's. I know that's the goal of the system to indoctrinate into the children through the schools, because I've seen it and heard it, and seen the results. It is documented. The system doesn't want the children to be given any strong opinions about anything with the possible exception that it is bad to have strong opinions about anything.

Just eat, drink, and be merry, do your job, have your drink, plug in to the TV and DVD, and buy their pain killers and entertainment systems and work in their factories and serve their hamburgers. No thinkers, no philosophers, just drones; the only philosophers must be carefully crafted to fit the system and conform with their story.
